Zapped by the zeta-beam, Adam is teleported, not to Rann, but to Anthorann, a neighboring planet. Escaping barbarians and their "Rainbow Doom" (a teleporter), he meets Alanna and Sardath. They used knowledge from Samakand scientists to journey to Ant.
